Rose Hitt

Rose Mary Hitt 88 0f West Harrison St., Piedmont WV died at her residence on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021. She was born in Frostburg, MD on May 23, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Earl J. Kelley and Mary F. (Fitzpatrick) Kelley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth (Chick) Hitt who died in 1993 and her brother, James Kelley.

Rose was a Catholic by faith. She was a 1951 graduate of Central High School.

She was a homemaker, who loved to cook, bake, and do crafts while her children were growing up. Later in life she worked in retail sales and doing volunteer work for various civic organizations.

She is survived by her children, Brian D. Hitt and companion, Jean of CA; William A. Hitt and extended family of NV, Mark K. Hitt and wife Loretta of Keyser, WV and her daughter Linda C. Stephen and husband Wayne of Barton, MD. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters; John Kelley and wife June , Pat Moon and husband Russell, Carole Michael and husband Addis, Kathleen McMillan and husband Rick, a special nephew Keith Arnold and family , and other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her three Grandchildren, Kimberly Angle, Kellie Hitt and Mark Hitt Jr; two Step-Grandchildren, Amy and Wayne Jr; and Two Step Great Grandchildren; William and Connor.

In accordance with her wishes Rose will be cremated and there will be no visitation or funeral services. She will be buried with her husband at Rocky Gap at a later date.

The family would like to thank Lois Hartman, Dr. Janjua and Mountain Hospice for their special care during Rose’s illness, and her neighbors, Vic, Christa and Joe.
