Richard L. Washington, “Dickie” 74 of Keyser, WV and formerly of Piedmont, WV died on Sunday Sept 8, 2018 at Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV.
He was born in Piedmont on April 12, 1944 and was son of the late Henis Taylor and Martha Washington. He was preceded in death by two wives, Antionette Major Washington and Betty Taylor Washington and a son Richard, and three brothers, Robert, Lewis and Tyrone Washington and two sisters, Lorraine Kithcart and Izetta Jesse
He was raised at Waldon Methodist Church and was a current member of the Church of God in Christ in Piedmont. He served in the United State Navy and retired from Potomac State College in Keyser as a janitor with over thirty years of service. He was a member of Kelley-Mansfield Post # 52 American Legion in Piedmont, WV.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Shana Washington and special friend, Brian Snyder and his two grandchildren, Kearra and Bryshaun Snyder; his brother, William Washington of DC and two step-sons Angelo and Chris Taylor, many nieces and nephews and his special friend Wanda Twyman.
The family will receive friends at the Fredlock Funeral Home in Piedmont on Thursday, Sept. 13 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1 PM with Bishop Henderson Wheeler and Rev Darnell Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Potomac Memorial Gardens in Keyser, WV..Military Honors will be provided by members of Kelly-Mansfield Post # 52 American Legion.
