Mildred Moorehead

Mildred M. Moorehead “Millie” 85 formerly of Westernport, MD and Keyser, WV died at WMHS in Cumberland on July 12, 2018. She had resided at Frostburg Village for the last several years. She was born on Dec. 22, 1932 in Luke, MD and was the daughter of the late Robert L. Walker Sr. and Naomi (Brumback) Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Vaughn (Sam) Moorehead and her brothers Overton Walker, Robert L Walker, Joseph Walker and Lee Walker and her sister, Beatrice Hershberger.

Mildred was a graduate of Bruce High School. She was Pentecostal by faith and was a member of God’s Ark of Safety Church in Frostburg. She was a member and Secretary of Frostburg Lions at Frostburg Village Chapter and member of the Red Hat Society of Frostburg and member of Bell Ringing Choir at Frostburg Village.

She worked at Heartland of Keyser as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for many years and was a private caregiver for many people over the years.

Millie is survived by two sons, Timothy V. Moorehead and wife Becky of Keyser, WV and Daniel L. Moorehead of Hyndman, PA  and her brother Ralph Walker of Hamlet, NC. She is also survived by three Grandchildren and seven Great-Grandchildren

The Family will receive friends at the the Fredlock Funeral Home in Piedmont, WV. on Sunday from 5 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 PM with Rev. Everett Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Potomac Memorial Gardens in Keyser, WV.
