Michael E. Amoroso-82 of Maryland Ave died at UPMC-WMHS on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021. He was born in Piedmont, WV on March 7, 1939 and was the son of the late Louie Amoroso and Mildred (Shrout) Amoroso. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie and Louie Amoroso.
Mike was a member of Divine Mercy/ Saint Peter in Westernport, MD. He graduated from Piedmont High School in the class of 1957. He worked at Westvaco in Luke, MD for over 40 years and retired in 2001 as an Operator in Accur-Trim in the Finishing Department. He was a life member of Tri-Towns Fire Co # 1 in Piedmont, WV; and was Honorary Member of the McCoole VFW, and the Keyser Moose. He was a coin collector and card player.
He is survived by three sons; Louie J. Amoroso of Keyser, WV, John P. Amoroso of Piedmont and Michael C. Amoroso and wife Linda of Westernport, MD. His sisters; JoAnn Johnson of Piedmont, Donna Cosner and husband Lenny of Keyser and Karen Lease of Piedmont, His brothers; Joseph “Bussie” Amoroso, John Amoroso and Patrick Amoroso and his wife Isabelle all of Piedmont. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Aleesha, Tessa, James P and Sidney Amoroso, Megan Lynch, and Britney and Selena Snyder and eight Great-Grandchildren.
In accordance to his wishes Mike was cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Divine Mercy/Saint Peter in Westernport on Saturday Sept. 25, 2021 at 10AM with Reverend Eric Gauchat OFM-CAP as celebrant The family will receive friends at the church from 9AM until the time of Mass.
In the interest of safety masks will be required at church.
