Margaret Lee (O’Brien) Hannon McCutcheon, 94, of Frostburg, MD went peacefully to meet her Lord April 13, 2021. She was born in Piedmont, WV on January 7, 1927 and was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Curran) O’Brien. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Joseph Andrew Hannon and James McCutcheon, Sr. and sister Joan Agnes O’Brien and three brothers Fr.John J O’Brien, Albert “Wode” O’Brien, Thomas “Tucker” O’Brien and step daughter Julie McCutcheon Duncan.
Margaret was a member of Divine Mercy/ St. Peter’s Parish in Westernport, MD. She graduated from St. Peter’s School in 1945. She was also the owner of the Lad and Lassie Children’s Store in Piedmont, WV and later worked at the First National Bank of Keyser. Margaret was also a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Alumni C.D. of A. Her greatest joys were laughter, shopping and her sons, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Robert Hannon and wife Helen, Christopher Hannon and wife Wendy, Stepson James McCutcheon and Stepdaughter Lana Miller and husband Marvin, Sister-in-law Rosemary Hannon, and dear friend Judy Haywood; Grandchildren Ashley Dougherty and fiancée John Sterrett, Mary Caite Hannon and wife Sarah, Megan Duncan and Trevor Duncan; and great grandchildren Skylar Dougherty and Jaxon Sterrett. A special thank you to Esther Johnson for her excellent care for the last 15 months.
Family and friends will be received at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Westernport, MD on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Father Ed Hendricks and Deacon Harold Bradley. Interment will immediately follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Please remember social distancing and face masks are required for visitation and Mass.
