Dorothy Twyman

DOROTHY MARIE (KANE) TWYMAN, affectionately known as Tiny, departed her life on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Restore Health and Rehabilitation Center, White Plains, Maryland. She was born on December 10, 1926 in Keyser, WV to the late Brown and Elsie Kane.

She was raised in Keyser, WV and attended Howard High School in Piedmont, WV.

Dorothy married Clarence W. Twyman on January 10, 1946.  From this union nine children were born, Arretta Jackson (Ronald), Piedmont, WV, Clarence W. Twyman (Misako), Chesapeake, VA, Marjorie Rawls (Willie), Clinton, MD, Retha House (Phillip), Youngstown, OH, Donald Twyman (Carola), Piedmont, WV ,Julia Muse, Ft. Washington, MD,  Karen Harris, Charlotte, NC, Barbara Henderson, Piedmont, WV. Steve Twyman (Jummy) Keyser, Patrick Twyman, Columbus, OH.  One brother, Paul N. Kane (Barbara). She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Elizabeth (Ludy) Redman, Ruth Cox; and one brother, David Kane.

She was a member of the Church of God in Christ.  She was a proud member of Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Post 3518 and the Washington Smith Post, Women’s Auxiliary.

Dorothy had several hobbies but enjoyed cooking the most. She loved Sports:  Golf, Basketball, Football and Baseball and was cheering for the Nats for the World Series.

She had a love for life and loved her family dearly.  She leaves to cherish her memories a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She also leaves 31 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Viewing November 1, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, WV.  Funeral Service Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, WV 34 Jones Street, Piedmont, WV.  Visitation 12:00 pm – Service 1:00 pm.

Interment Potomac Memorial Gardens.
