Anna Louise (Hill) Michael, 90, of Westernport, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at her home. Born on June 10, 1932, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Earl Johnson and Ann Genevieve (Driscoll) Hill.
She was dedicated to singing and serving the church for over forty years. Anna was awarded the Medal of Honor for outstanding service at St. Peter, Westernport, in the Archdiocese of Baltimore by Archbishop Edwin O'Brien. Her generosity and creativity were well known throughout her church community.
Anna is survived by her sons, Kenton Michael and partner, Vera Leming, and Mark Michael and wife Susan; a daughter, Ellen Barnard and husband Paul; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Michael, Becki Spellman and husband Ryan, Seth Michael and wife Isabelle, Spenser Barnard and wife Kim, and Alex Barnard; five great grandchildren, Roslynn McCarty, Nolan and Corra Spellman, Gwynn and Edwin Barnard; several nieces and nephews; and her bible study group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alston D. Michael, in 1985. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Fredlock Funeral Home, 31 Jones St., Piedmont, WV on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11 AM in Divine Mercy, St. Peter of Westernport, Maryland with Father Scott Kady as celebrant. Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery.
